Every dog is an individual and the price of the cut will reflect this. A more accurate quotation can be provided on presentation of the dog and discussion with the groomer.

SOCIAL MEDIA/ADVERTISING

We regularly take photographs and use them for training, advertising and social media content.

If you do not want photos of your dog shared in these ways, please inform us in writing.  Photos may still be taken of your dog but will be stored securely and will not be shared with anyone other than yourself, a vet or animal welfare official.

NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS

In the event that your pet’s coat needs to be clipped off to release it from matting or coat neglect, Top to Tail Dog Grooming, its owner and operator are not liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk.

Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at our discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (clause 5 – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering).

De-matting during a routine groom is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de-matting isn’t possible, the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat.

You will be given an estimated cost for the procedure which will be higher than a standard groom price to reflect the additional work and risk involved.

EMMI-PET ULTRASONIC TEETH CLEANING

Whilst this method of dental cleaning is highly effective in removing mild tartar, improving gums and mouth health and breath, Top to Tail Dog Grooming cannot guarantee the treatments’ effectiveness or suitability for individual dogs due to varying external factors.

During the initial consultation we will determine your dog's suitability for treatment and introduce your dog to the procedure. If following this assessment we decide your dog is not suitable for treatment, either due to the condition of the teeth or the dog's behaviour then we will not continue with the treatment and advise you on how you should proceed, if at any time during the course of treatment, or subsequent maintenace sessions further issues are identified, again we will not continue with treatment and you will be advised to contact your vet. The payment for the initial consult will still be due in full even if a decision is made not to continue with ongoing treatment.

If we feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes away we may request you get your pets’ teeth checked at your veterinarian before continuing treatment. It is possible that the tartar build up or decay will be too great and then a veterinary dental may be necessary, this may become apparent at any time during the course of treatment as it may not be visable initially, we can then arrange follow up ultrasonic maintenance visits with us.

Top to Tail Dog Grooming cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic treatments.

Emmi-pet ultrasonic treatment is not a veterinary procedure and Top to Tail Dog Grooming cannot diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth, any concerns should be discussed with your vet.

Top to Tail Dog Grooming offer 2 types of treatment plans, pre-paid and PAYG.

The cost of the pre-paid tartar removal treatment must be paid in full at the initial treatment and any sessions purchased must be used within a 12 month period, any unused sessions will be forfeited after this time, and should you wish to recommence treatment you will need to begin with an initial consultation at the current rate. PAYG treatments are due at the time of each appointment.

Each dog will have its own tooth brush head that will not be used on another dog. This is purchased at the initial consultation, kept on-site at Top to Tail Dog Grooming, and will require yearly replacement.

AGGRESSIVE & POORLY SOCIALISED DOGS: THE DANGEROUS DOGS ACT

I reserve the right to refuse to groom any pet at risk of harming me or itself. If your dog is accepted for grooming & displays aggression that I have not been informed of during its session, the groom will be terminated immediately. You will be contacted to collect your dog. The full starting price of the groom will be levied.

You must inform me prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services.

Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act, which holds owners liable for bites and injuries caused by their dogs.

Should Top to Tail Dog Grooming determine, at it’s sole discretion, that urgent veterinary care is required, I agree to pay all associated fees and costs. If my pet’s vet is not available, I authorise Top to Tail Dog Grooming to use its chosen vet. Top to Tail Dog Grooming will not be liable for any after-grooming effects of de-matting, clipping or brushing procedures, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat including, but not limited to, skin redness, itchiness, or self-inflicted irritations from excessive external scratching or rubbing. Time and costs associated with de-matting are unpredictable. I agree to pay whatever fees are incurred as a result of de-matting. Whether a dog is considered matted is at the sole discretion of Top to Tail Dog Grooming.

Top to Tail Dog Grooming will not be responsible for death of a pet whilst in the care of Top to Tail Dog Grooming which is as a result of any pre-existing health condition.
